Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Procurement Operations Professional, you will provide professional support for purchase order processing and carry out tactical sourcing activities. You will utilize your knowledge of categories and category suppliers to negotiate with suppliers while following IBM Procurement policies to complete purchases. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Manage Client Relationships: Set up and maintain relationships with IBM clients and suppliers, applying client-facing skills to understand their situations and manage expectations. Clearly communicate with clients and suppliers through written and verbal communication.
Negotiate with Suppliers: Utilize market intelligence and benchmarking to negotiate with suppliers, ensuring compliance with IBM Procurement policies.
Process Purchase Orders: Effectively use procurement-related tools to process purchase orders and document supplier/PO related information.
Resolve Issues: Apply problem determination skills to fix problems in the purchasing process, including clearing aged open POs and resolving blocked invoices for suppliers.
